Good Business Charter 5-Year Anniversary Event
On 13th February 2025, we were honoured to join The Good Business Charter (GBC) in celebrating five years of advocating for a clear commitment to responsible business practices, both for people and the planet.
Held at The Congress Centre in London, the event provided an invaluable opportunity to connect with other accredited organisations and key business leaders. We were especially proud to be personally thanked by GBC founder Julian Richer for our support as Fair Pay & Hours Champion during Good Business Fortnight. The renowned retailer and philanthropist also reiterated his strong belief that adherence to the GBC should be the established norm across the UK, particularly with 97% of consumers believing businesses should operate responsibly.
Deputy Prime Minister Angela Rayner also delivered a keynote address, reaffirming her commitment to the most significant upgrade to workers’ rights in a generation through the Employment Rights Bill. She outlined its clear objective of boosting growth and living standards across the UK, stating: “My driving force is to fight to support working people out of insecurity, restore respect at work and help make sure hard-working people are better off. This is a mission also championed by the Good Business Charter and the many businesses signed up to its brilliant cause, who know people are their greatest asset and that upgrading workers’ rights is an upgrade for growth and business.”
The GBC was founded in February 2020 in collaboration with the CBI and the TUC, whose building provided a fitting setting for bringing together those committed to caring for their workforce, paying their fair share of tax, and behaving responsibly towards their suppliers, supply chain, customers, and the environment. We are proud to be the first social care provider and one of the first 20 organisations to join the GBC, gaining our accreditation only six days after the GBC first launched.

The event marked a fitting conclusion to Good Business Fortnight, during which the GBC interviewed us on Fair Pay & Hours Friday, discussing how we ensure employee wellbeing and retention through the responsible use of zero hours contracts. Click below to read the full interview now!
