We are very pleased to announce that Silver Birch Care is among the first providers to have been accredited by the West London Alliance (WLA) in the Unregulated Accommodation & Support Accreditation Scheme!

The WLA accreditation scheme is intended for 16+ accommodation and support services, and is designed to help local authority placements and commissioning teams quality assure semi-independent service providers. Silver Birch Care are proud to have attended and participated in a series of workshops and steering sessions over the last few months, all of which fed into and informed the development of the accreditation scheme.

Whilst the scheme is not currently linked with a procurement vehicle, the accredited provider list is available to the WLA’s partners to help inform their procurement decisions. The WLA currently publish the list of accredited providers through the CarePlace directory, which is also available to local authorities outside of the WLA partnership for information purposes.

In the absence of statutory regulation and inspection for this sector, it is expected that accredited status will become increasingly relevant in procurement decision making over time – The WLA and Silver Birch Care believe this to be an essential component in the facilitation and maintenance of high quality service provision for young people aged 16 and over.

We are pleased to announce that we have also passed the Commissioning Alliance Stage 2 Accreditation Inspection. This brings us even closer to being one of the top providers on CarePlace, and highlights our continuous efforts in providing only the highest quality of care to our young people.
