What is Silver Birch Care?

Silver Birch Care was established in 2006 to provide supported living services for looked after young people aged 16 years and over. We now work in partnership with 37 local authorities and county councils, and also provide direct services to HM Government Home Office. We have become the provider of choice to so many local authorities, as they trust us to achieve positive outcomes for the young people they place in our care, and have confidence in our ability to ensure their young people will go on to live safe, happy, and successful lives.

Supporting, Guiding, and
Mentoring Young People

We believe that with the appropriate support, every young person has the potential to develop the motivation and skills they need to lead a fulfilling and rewarding life. Our core aim is to create a supportive environment in which to facilitate each young person’s access to either education or vocational training, leading them on to a diverse range of employment opportunities.

Promoting and Facilitating Successful Independent Living

We recognise the challenges young people encounter as they prepare to leave local authority care and make the transition into independent adult life. We believe that by providing young people with positive role models, and dedicated empathetic, experienced support workers, we can successfully equip them with the independent living skills they need to move forward.

Giving the confidence to live life

  • We recognise the challenges children and young people may encounter as a result of being in looked after care.

  • We believe that by providing young people with positive role models, and dedicated, empathetic, experienced support staff, we can successfully equip them with the life skills they need to move forward and make positive contributions to their wider communities.

  • We are committed to all aspects of equality and diversity which is reflected in our ethos, culture and practice of service delivery.

  • We will always treat every individual with respect, and embrace the significant contributions that come from the diversity of our young people, staff, partners, and stakeholders.

Giving the confidence to be an individual

Our aim is to provide looked after young people with a safe and nurturing environment, one that promotes empowerment, independence and choice, while enhancing their core living skills, and ability to move across the care continuum into fully independent living.

We believe that with appropriate support and guidance, every young person has the potential to develop the motivation and skills necessary to lead a fulfilling and rewarding life.
